School has started. August 24th is the first day of school. Vacation Week
Students are continuing to work in teams to finish their respective ThinkQuest Narrative Competition research projects. A description of this competition can be found at www.thinkquest,org.
Students are working on their ThinkQuest narrative research projects. Each team of three students is creating web pages in ThinkQuest on a subject of worldwide interest. If the projects are of high enough quality they will be entered into the ThinkQuest Narrative Competition.
Tuesday is the dealine for the ThinkQuest research projects. These will be posted on www.thinkquest.org on each student’s ThinkQuest website. The next project will be team projects. This week students will be working on research project. The final presentation will be on thinkquest.org. Students will do research using the two column note taking technique. Students will also create a complete works cited page.
This week the studetns will work on Excel spreadsheets. These will include creating a simple chart, a household budget, a business order form, a grade average sheet, and a database.
Monday students will finish work on slide show. On Tuesday we will begin working on the spreadsheet unit beginning with simple graphing and continuing with creating a household budget, an order form, computing grade averages and setting up a simple database.
